Get a Grip!

Of all instruments where players claim to be self taught, or play-by-ear, drums top the list. Almost anyone can pick up some sticks and a drum set, and learn to bang out a basic beat. Learning proper; or at least good technique can be an entirely different process. Many self-taught drummers not only have little or no grip technique training, but may also have developed detrimental habits that can prove very hard to break. Whether you use matched, traditional, French, American or any combination of grips, learning and practicing to improve your grip can increase speed, stamina, control, consistency and power. Here is a collection of ten top URLs with text, images, video and even some physics to help refine and improve your sticking technique.
